- 10.5 oz can cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 cup crispy fried onions
- Black pepper to taste
- 1 cup additional crispy fried onions
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly coat a baking dish with nonstick spray or butter.
- In a pot of boiling salted water, blanch green beans for about 5 minutes until bright green but still crisp. Drain and plunge into an ice bath to stop cooking.
- In a large bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth. Add black pepper to taste. Gently fold in blanched green beans.
- Stir in 1 cup of fried onions into the mixture, reserving some for topping.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for about 25 minutes until bubbling.
- Sprinkle the remaining fried onions on top and return to oven for another 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
