  • 10.5 oz can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup crispy fried onions
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup additional crispy fried onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly coat a baking dish with nonstick spray or butter.
  2. In a pot of boiling salted water, blanch green beans for about 5 minutes until bright green but still crisp. Drain and plunge into an ice bath to stop cooking.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth. Add black pepper to taste. Gently fold in blanched green beans.
  4. Stir in 1 cup of fried onions into the mixture, reserving some for topping.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly. Bake for about 25 minutes until bubbling.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining fried onions on top and return to oven for another 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
