  • 4 cups whole milk

  • 5 cardamom pods, crushed

Instructions

  1. Rinse the short-grain rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
  2. Soak the rinsed rice in water for about 30 minutes to absorb moisture.
  3. Drain the soaked rice and combine it with whole milk in a heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat. Stir continuously until it simmers gently.
  4. Once simmering, stir in granulated sugar, crushed cardamom pods, and saffron threads. Continue stirring occasionally for about 20 minutes.
