- 4 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 5 cardamom pods, crushed

Instructions
- Rinse the short-grain rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
- Soak the rinsed rice in water for about 30 minutes to absorb moisture.
- Drain the soaked rice and combine it with whole milk in a heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat. Stir continuously until it simmers gently.
- Once simmering, stir in granulated sugar, crushed cardamom pods, and saffron threads. Continue stirring occasionally for about 20 minutes.
- Lower the heat and keep stirring for another ten minutes until you achieve a creamy consistency.
