- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- Peel and slice the onions into thin rings, aiming for about a quarter-inch thickness.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add sliced onions, salt, and pepper. Sauté for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown and caramelized.
- Spread half of the caramelized onions evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle half of the mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the onions.
- Layer on the remaining onions followed by the remaining cheese.
- In a small bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs with garlic powder and melted butter. Sprinkle generously over the top layer of cheese.
