- 4 large sweet onions, sliced
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (sharp and mild blend)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown and fragrant, about 15-20 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese with half of the cheddar and Parmesan cheeses. Add garlic powder and mix until smooth.
- Layer half of the caramelized onions in the bottom of the prepared baking dish, followed by half of the cheese mixture. Repeat with remaining onions and cheese mixture.
- Sprinkle breadcrumbs evenly over the top layer of cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
