Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups crumbled cornbread (homemade or store-bought)
- 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 cup diced celery
- 1 cup diced onion
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 2 tsp poultry seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a large baking dish with nonstick cooking spray or butter.
- If making from scratch, follow your favorite recipe or package instructions. Allow it to cool completely before crumbling into large chunks.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the diced onion and celery, cooking until softened (about 5 minutes).
- In a mixing bowl, combine crumbled cornbread, sautéed vegetables, poultry seasoning, and enough chicken broth to moisten everything well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer the mixture into the greased baking dish and bake for about 30-35 minutes until golden brown on top.
- Once baked, let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy this dressing as a side dish or on its own!
