  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown the Beef: In a large pot over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Sauté the Vegetables: Add chopped onions and bell peppers to the pot. Sauté for about 4-5 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic during the last minute.
  3. Add Tomatoes and Beans: Pour in the canned diced tomatoes along with their juices and add drained kidney and black beans. Stir well to combine.
  4. Spice It Up: Sprinkle in chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper, stirring until everything is coated in spices.
  5. Simmer: Bring your chili to a simmer over low heat. Let it cook for at least 20-25 minutes so flavors meld together.
