Ingredients
Scale
- 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp dried thyme
Instructions
- Gather all your ingredients and finely chop the onion.
- Generously sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides of the chicken breasts.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil until shimmering. Add the seasoned chicken breasts and cook for about 6 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over the onions and stir well. Gradually whisk in chicken broth while scraping up any bits stuck to the pan. Continue whisking until smooth.
- Return the seared chicken to the skillet with the gravy mixture. Let it simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes to absorb flavor.
- Serve hot, drizzled with gravy. Enjoy your comforting meal!
