  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about three minutes).
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the dried cherries and chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets about two inches apart. Bake for about 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are set while centers remain soft.
