- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter (for sautéing garlic)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk and active dry yeast. Allow it to sit until foamy.
- Stir in flour, melted butter, and salt until a dough forms.
- Transfer dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for about an hour or until doubled in size.
- While waiting for the dough to rise, sauté minced garlic in 2 tbsp of butter over medium heat until fragrant (about one minute).
- In a bowl, combine sautéed garlic with grated mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
- Once risen, roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread the garlic butter filling evenly on top.
- Sprinkle the cheese mixture over the dough and roll tightly into a log.
- Cut into sections about two inches thick and place them in muffin tins.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
