Description

Cheesy Garlic Cruffins are a scrumptious pastry filled with gooey cheese and aromatic garlic, perfect for brunch or as a savory snack that will impress your guests.


Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (for sautéing garlic)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk and active dry yeast. Allow it to sit until foamy.
  2. Stir in flour, melted butter, and salt until a dough forms.
  3. Transfer dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for about an hour or until doubled in size.
  5. While waiting for the dough to rise, sauté minced garlic in 2 tbsp of butter over medium heat until fragrant (about one minute).
  6. In a bowl, combine sautéed garlic with grated mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
  7. Once risen, roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread the garlic butter filling evenly on top.
  8. Sprinkle the cheese mixture over the dough and roll tightly into a log.
  9. Cut into sections about two inches thick and place them in muffin tins.
  10. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
