Ingredients
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
- 2 cups elbow macaroni (uncooked)
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp mustard
- ½ cup dill pickles, chopped (optional)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cook elbow macaroni in salted boiling water until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté onions until translucent. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
- Add ground beef; brown for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Stir in cooked macaroni, cream of mushroom soup, ketchup, mustard, and diced pickles until evenly mixed.
- Fold half of the cheddar into the mixture before transferring to a greased baking dish. Top with remaining cheese and sprinkle breadcrumbs mixed with melted butter.
