  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni (uncooked)
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • ½ cup dill pickles, chopped (optional)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cook elbow macaroni in salted boiling water until al dente; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté onions until translucent. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef; brown for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  4. Stir in cooked macaroni, cream of mushroom soup, ketchup, mustard, and diced pickles until evenly mixed.
  5. Fold half of the cheddar into the mixture before transferring to a greased baking dish. Top with remaining cheese and sprinkle breadcrumbs mixed with melted butter.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
