Ingredients

  • ¼ cup ice water
  • 1 cup dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add chilled butter and mix until crumbly.
  3. Stir in ice water until dough forms; wrap and chill for 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface; fit into a pie pan and crimp edges.
  6. Prick bottom with a fork and blind bake for 10 minutes.
  7. Melt dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in short bursts, stirring until smooth.
  8. In another bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
  9. Fold in melted chocolate and chopped pecans.
  10. Pour filling into the prepared crust.
  11. Bake in preheated oven for about 50-60 minutes until set but slightly jiggly in the center.
