Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
Instructions
- Prepare Your Bananas: Slice the ripe bananas into rounds, about half an inch thick. Set aside.
- Make the Caramel Sauce: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine granulated sugar and butter. Stir constantly until melted into a golden caramel. Remove from heat and stir in heavy cream and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Assemble the Dessert: In a serving dish or individual glasses, layer banana slices at the bottom. Pour a generous amount of warm caramel sauce over the bananas.
- Add More Layers: Repeat layering with additional banana slices followed by more caramel sauce. Optionally, add chopped nuts between layers for extra crunch.
- Chill Out: Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour to allow flavors to meld.
- Serve and Enjoy: Remove from refrigerator just before serving. Garnish with whipped cream or crushed nuts if desired, then serve!
