- 12 ounces ziti pasta
- 4 cups fresh spinach (or 2 cups frozen spinach)
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
- 24 ounces marinara sauce
- 2 minced garlic cloves
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente; avoid overcooking.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add a splash of olive oil and minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, then add spinach and cook until wilted.
- In a large bowl, combine cooked ziti, sautéed spinach, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella. Pour in half of the marinara sauce and mix well.
- Spread half of the remaining marinara sauce at the bottom of a greased baking dish. Layer the ziti mixture on top, pour over the rest of the sauce, and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until golden.
- Let cool slightly before serving warm, garnished with extra cheese or fresh basil if desired.
