These delicious bites combine the rich sweetness of Medjool dates with perfectly crispy bacon, making them a must-have appetizer for any gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 Medjool dates (pitted)
- 6 slices thick-cut bacon (cut in half)
- 12 almonds or 4 oz goat cheese (for stuffing) – Optional
- 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup (for drizzling) – Optional
Instructions
- Preheat Your Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Prepare the Dates: If your Medjool dates are not pre-pitted, make a small slit in each date and remove the pit. Optionally, stuff each date with an almond or a small piece of goat cheese.
- Wrap with Bacon: Take half a slice of bacon and wrap it around each stuffed date. Secure with toothpicks if necessary.
- Bake: Place the wrapped dates on the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 15-20 minutes, until the bacon is crispy and golden brown.
- Add Drizzle: If using honey or maple syrup, remove the dates from the oven and drizzle lightly over them while still warm.
- Serve Hot: Transfer the warm bites to a serving platter and enjoy!
