Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup eggnog (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a rectangular baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined.
- In another bowl, beat together eggs, milk, and eggnog until frothy. Pour into dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth out the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool slightly before using a fork or skewer to poke holes all over the top.
- While still warm, pour additional eggnog over the holes, allowing it to soak in completely.
- Once the cake is completely cooled, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Spread over the top of the cake.
- Sprinkle ground nutmeg on top as a garnish.
