- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
- 1 cup eggnog
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
Instructions
- Bloom the gelatin by sprinkling it over 2 tablespoons of cold water in a small bowl. Let it sit for about 5 minutes.
- In a medium saucepan, combine heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, eggnog, and vanilla extract. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until it begins to steam (do not boil).
- Remove from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until dissolved.
- Pour the mixture into serving cups or molds. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or until set.
- While waiting for the panna cotta to set, whip heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form. Add powdered sugar and freshly grated nutmeg; mix until well combined.
- Once panna cotta is set, top each serving with a generous dollop of nutmeg whipped cream before serving.
