- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup stone-ground grits
- 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 1/4 cup butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sliced green onions for garnish
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring chicken broth to a boil over medium heat.
- Gradually whisk in grits while stirring continuously. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 20-25 minutes until thickened.
- Stir in butter and season with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter until bubbly.
- Add shrimp seasoned with Cajun spice blend. Cook for about 3-4 minutes per side until shrimp turns pink and opaque.
- Pour in heavy cream and stir gently to create a sauce. Let it simmer for another couple of minutes until slightly thickened.
- Spoon creamy grits into bowls or plates.
