Description

A delightful, multi-layered cake that combines rich chocolate and creamy peanut butter for a truly indulgent treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup creamy or crunchy peanut butter
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • ¼ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two round cake pans with non-stick spray or butter.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until well blended.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined; do not overmix.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between prepared pans and bake for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Allow cakes to cool in pans for about ten minutes before transferring them onto wire racks to cool completely.
  7. In a medium bowl, beat together softened butter and peanut butter until smooth and creamy.
  8. Gradually add powdered sugar and heavy cream until you reach your desired consistency.
  9. Place one cake layer on a serving plate and spread a generous layer of frosting on top.
  10. Add the second cake layer on top and frost the top and sides generously.
