Ingredients

  • 8 oz mozzarella or cheddar cheese sticks
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 egg (beaten for egg wash)
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the thawed puff pastry until about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Cut the pastry into rectangles large enough to wrap around each cheese stick wrapped in ham. Lay down a slice of ham flat on the pastry, place a cheese stick at one end, then roll it up tightly, ensuring there are no gaps.
  4. Brush each rolled stick generously with the beaten egg wash to achieve a golden color when baked.
  5. Place the sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes until they are golden brown and puffed up.
