  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans (14 oz each) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) kidney and black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 3 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add chopped onion and sauté until translucent (about 5 minutes). Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  2. Add ground beef to the pot, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook until no longer pink (about 7 minutes). Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Sprinkle in chili powder and cumin over the browned beef. Stir well to coat everything evenly with spices.
  4. Pour in crushed tomatoes along with their juices. Add drained beans and mix well to combine all ingredients.
